I started my career as a multimedia journalist. My passion for storytelling has let me to audience engagement, aka content strategy, where I get to make sure all the good stuff my colleagues produce get to the right people. It feels like being that smart friend who constantly breaks down complex ideas, and I love that.
But my relationship with design started way before that. In high school, I taught myself Photoshop to create event covers, then used it to compete in student government and even publish my own magazine. I realized how quickly time passed whenever I was designing—an experience I later learned was called flow.
Now, I’m combining design with my journalism background and hoping to move to the UX/product side. Currently, I work as a content designer, and I’m about to finish my graduate program at the University of Toronto in UX design (yay!).
When I’m not working…
You can most likely find me in the kitchen cooking myself a feast (see pictures below) or in front of my computer playing video games. I absolutely love horror/adventure games — a lot of them tell a really good story! Some of my favorites are: Return of the Obra Dinn, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Detention.
